New Mexico Intersection Collisions
The rules governing the right of way are a predominant factor in intersection crashes. Even if another driver has a red light or stop sign, there is little else stopping them from entering the crossing. Distracted or negligent drivers are known to enter roadway crossings and cause catastrophic car accidents. An estimated 2.5 million intersection crashes are reported annually in the United States, making up nearly 40% of traffic accidents nationwide.
In the state of New Mexico, plaintiffs injured in a vehicle collision have a right to be fully compensated for injuries resulting from the actions of a negligent party. When calculating the extent of a victim’s damages, many different factors are taken into consideration, including the suffering endured by the victim and the extent of their financial damages resulting from a New Mexico car accident. Considering all these factors can be overwhelming for those trying their best to recover after a car accident.
