New Mexico Intersection Collisions
Traveling through an intersection can greatly increase the chances of a serious car accident. Each year, intersections are the site of nearly 40% of reported car crashes, despite making up a small percentage of roadways across the country. According to data from the Federal Highway Administration, there are more than 2.5 million intersection accidents reported annually, making up the second-largest crash category in the United States.
Car crashes in New Mexico are caused by a variety of roadway hazards, such as poor driving, excessive speed, unsafe road conditions, poor truck maintenance, road construction, and inadequate signage.
