Deadly DUI Accidents in New Mexico
Drunk driving is a serious danger to everyone on the road. The stats show that New Mexico has one of the country's highest rates of alcohol-related arrests. Annually, an estimated 10,000 people are killed in DUI collisions across the country. A drunk driver kills someone every 52 minutes on average. That means an estimated 28 people are killed daily in car accidents caused by intoxicated drivers.
Wrongful death lawsuits are intended to compensate surviving family members when a loved one dies as a result of another party's negligence. Obtaining that compensation, on the other hand, is frequently easier said than done. Just because the victim died does not absolve the at-fault party of responsibility. Insurance companies for those who are at fault will frequently try to shift blame for a fatal accident. Instead of paying compensation to the family members of the deceased after a fatal car accident, the defendant should pay compensation to the family members of the deceased to assist with accident-related expenses. Only a personal injury lawyer in Albuquerque with years of experience helping victims pursue wrongful death claims can help you achieve this.
