New Mexico Hit-&-Run Accidents
When a pedestrian is hit by a car, it is already traumatic enough. When the at-fault driver flees the scene, it means that the wounded victim is unable to obtain the medical help he or she needs to make a full recovery. Sadly, hit-and-run fatalities are rising rapidly across the United States. In 2015, a hit-and-run took place every 43 seconds on average, resulting in over 737,100 accidents nationwide.
Pedestrians are at a serious disadvantage when involved in a crash with a motor vehicle in New Mexico. Unlike those traveling in passenger cars, pedestrians have little protection from the full impact of an accident, and this is why pedestrian crashes are over-represented in national roadway fatalities each year. A New Mexico pedestrian injury lawyer can help injured parties recover financial compensation for their injuries and other damages related to the crash.
