Loving, NM – Fatal DUI Accident on Co Rd 728
Loving, NM (August 30, 2019) – Around 9 p.m. last night, a fatal DUI accident took place on County Road 728 in Loving, leading to the arrest of one party.
Police claim that the teenager who caused the accident is now facing murder charges. The New Mexico State Police found through their investigation that a 2003 Chevy Silverado and 2004 Ford Ranger were traveling east alongside one another.
For reasons that are still being investigated, the vehicles made contact with one another, causing both vehicles to leave the north side of the road. The Silverado was driven by 17-year-old Francisco Limon, who was driving intoxicated at the time. The Ranger rolled off the side of the road.
The driver of the Ranger was identified as 18-year-old Riley Allen, who was ejected from the vehicle and was flown to a Texas hospital. He succumbed to the injuries that he sustained. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Police believe that alcohol was the cause of the accident. New Mexico State Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
