Motorcycle Accidents in New Mexico
The aftermath of a motorcycle crash can be catastrophic — to say the least. Riders are nearly 27 times more likely to be killed in a traffic accident according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Thousands of motorcyclists are killed annually in collisions, and statistics show that roughly 80% of motorcycle crashes end in death or injury.
Motorcyclists are injured or killed in collisions across New Mexico each day, and motorcycle fatalities have been increasing across the United States, while the overall rate of collisions has been on the decline. Not only are motorcyclists more likely to suffer severe injuries, but most drivers fail to look out for motorcyclists that share the road, resulting in devastating motorcycle collisions across the state. In fact, contrary to popular belief, the majority of motorcycle crashes in New Mexico are caused by the actions of reckless drivers who fail to safely share the roadway with motorcyclists as they should.
