San Felipe, NM - UPDATE: 1 Killed In Suspected DUI Crash On I-25
San Felipe, NM (January 3, 2020) - New Mexico State Police were at the scene of a deadly rollover collision on I-25 near San Felipe, New Mexico on New Year’s Day. Reports revealed that the crash took place early in the morning on Wednesday, January 1st, at around 7 a.m. Authorities reported that Christian Martinez, 18, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico was traveling on I-25 SB when his Cadillac overturned near mile marker 252.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. His passenger, a 17-year-old woman from Rio Rancho, was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to an Albuquerque hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Authorities suspect that alcohol was involved in the accident. An ongoing investigation into the crash is being handled by NMSP.
