Distracted Driving Accidents in New Mexico
In New Mexico, a distracted driving collision is reported every 56 minutes on average. The biggest contributing factors to accidents in this state include driver inattention, failure to yield the right of way, and following too closely. The year 2017 saw a total of 9,386 auto accidents involving inattentive drivers reported in the state.
Driving can be dangerous, especially when people choose to disobey traffic laws and seriously endanger others, thus it is important to take all feasible safety precautions. Although these drivers must be held accountable, any accidents may also be the fault of those responsible for maintaining the roads, as well as of companies and other organizations.
An insurance adjuster may contact you shortly after a car accident to inquire about the crash and request a statement from you. It is possible that they will argue that this declaration can help achieve a settlement more quickly, allowing you to recuperate from the damages you suffered. However, there are times when this is not the case.
