New Mexico Reckless Driving Crashes
Reckless driving is a serious issue in New Mexico. A report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that the state ranks fifth in the nation for careless driving accidents and is home to some of the worst drivers in the country. Each year, human error contributed to nearly 90% of reported car crashes. The most prevalent form of reckless driving in the state is distracted driving.
Car crashes in New Mexico are caused by a variety of roadway hazards, such as poor driving, excessive speed, unsafe road conditions, poor truck maintenance, road construction, and inadequate signage. Determining liability for a crash can be difficult and more complex than simply determining fault, and injured parties are often unprepared to protect their legal rights after a catastrophic accident.
