New Mexico Motorcycle Accidents
Occasional fender benders can be simply annoying. On the contrary, other auto crashes can involve high-impact collisions and end in injuries that are catastrophic and even fatal. All it takes is a distracted, intoxicated, or otherwise negligent driver to cause a life-changing auto accident. For many people in New Mexico, driving is an integral part of our daily lives. We don’t usually consider the potential for danger on the roadways.
While most car trips are generally uneventful, it is impossible to predict the actions of other motorists. At the law offices of Ferguson & Associates, we help those who have been hurt in motor vehicle accidents, especially by the actions of negligent drivers. Sadly, some auto accidents end in severe injuries or even death for involved parties. Motorcycle crashes, for example, almost always result in serious injuries for the motorcyclist due to traveling with little to no protection. Sadly, motorcyclists are often overlooked on the roadways, putting them at serious risk for personal injuries or even death.

Some common causes of New Mexico motorcycle crashes include:
- Drunk driving: Driving drunk is a serious issue in New Mexico and throughout the United States. Information provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that over one-third of deadly auto crashes in the United States involve intoxication. Additionally, thousands more children and adults suffer serious injuries in collisions caused by the actions of drunk and/or high drivers.
- In Albuquerque and throughout New Mexico, distracted driving has become a severe impediment to driver safety. Now that almost everyone uses a smartphone, numerous auto collisions are caused by drivers who are distracted by their phones. If a negligent driver causes your accident, odds are they were distracted at the time of the crash.
- Specifically texting and driving has become a more prevalent issue in the United States. This is one of the most dangerous forms of distracted driving and can greatly increase a driver’s chance of causing an accident that ends in serious injuries or worse.
