The agony and incomprehensibility of losing someone you care about are difficult to comprehend on its own. On the other hand, it may also put pressure on one's financial situation in some circumstances. If you are a survivor, you may find that it is too much for you to try to keep your family together, pay your expenses, and mourn the loss of a loved one all at the same time.
When the carelessness or criminal behavior of another individual results in the death of another individual, this type of death is referred to as a "wrongful death." A claim or lawsuit for wrongful death is a type of civil action that is brought against the party responsible for the death of the decedent on behalf of the decedent's surviving family members. If the victim had survived, the situation would have been quite similar to filing a claim for personal injury.
