Albuquerque Pedestrian Crashes
Pedestrian accidents are some of the most lethal, resulting in thousands of deaths each year. When pedestrians are involved in a crash involving a motor vehicle, they are vulnerable to suffer life-threatening injuries. Data from the Governor's Highway Safety Association found that New Mexico had the highest pedestrian fatality rate in the nation in 2017, with a rate of 3.53 deaths per 100,000 people. Across the state, there were 82 pedestrian deaths going into the 2018 holiday season.
There is little protecting a pedestrian from the full impact of a serious accident, meaning that New Mexico car accidents involving pedestrians often result in severe to life-threatening injuries. In the event of a collision, pedestrians are vulnerable to suffering from life-changing injuries and other damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other losses. In some cases, injured parties can recover lost compensation with the help of a qualified New Mexico pedestrian injury lawyer and hold the party liable for the crash responsible for resulting damages.
