Texting & Driving Accidents in New Mexico
Texting behind the wheel is one of the most common and dangerous forms of driver distraction. A significant number of fatal crashes in the United States involve distracted motorists. According to recent statistics, 6% of all drivers involved in a fatal crash were distracted at the time of the accident.
Cell phone use is most prevalent in drivers from 15 to 29 years of age. It should be no surprise that young motorists use their phones most frequently when operating a motor vehicle. A crash can happen in as little as three seconds, more than enough time to cause a serious collision.
