Robert Michael Ortiz was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He was admitted to the New Mexico State Bar in 1991 and to the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and United States Tax Court in 1992. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association.
Robert's province is complex multi-party litigation and trial work. He has made his mark in the legal community representing victims and families who have suffered devastating losses due to the negligence of others and or defective products. Part of that work has included obtaining numerous multimillion-dollar jury verdicts for those that have been injured or killed, and their families. He is a former prosecutor and trial attorney for the District Attorney's office of New Mexico's Fourth Judicial District and he continues to represent clients and their families throughout Northern New Mexico.
Robert and his wife Barbara have three great children, Robert III, Savannah Rose and Eric Hunter. In addition to lawyering, Robert is an avid fly fisherman, big game hunter and world traveler.
