Curry County, NM - Man Arrested for DUI Crash at US-84 & NM-467
Curry County, NM (November 24, 2019) - A man was arrested for charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to yield after a crash on Wednesday, November 20th. The accident took place near the intersection of US-84 and NM-467 in Curry County, New Mexico. The man has been identified as Texico School Board member Clifford Clay Franklin, 50.
Franklin was driving a white Ram pickup truck when he was involved in a crash with a red car. According to police reports, Franklin’s vehicle sustained significant front-end damage, while the other vehicle had damage to its side. Franklin claimed that he was not intoxicated when prompted by responding authorities but failed sobriety tests.
The severity of the resulting injuries has not yet been confirmed. An ongoing investigation is being handled by local law enforcement.
