Hobbs, NM - Martin Reyes-Lazano Killed In Crash On S Bypass
Hobbs, NM (December 28, 2019) - New Mexico State Police responded to the scene of a fatal crash near Hobbs, New Mexico on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24th. The collision took place on the South Bypass near mile marker 1. According to police reports, a 2018 Dodge pickup truck driven by Martin Reyes-Lazano, 34, of Eunice, New Mexico collided head-on with a 2018 semi-truck while traveling on the South Bypass.
For unknown reasons, Reyes-Lazano veered into oncoming traffic, striking the semi-truck. Reyes-Lazano sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead by the Office of the Medical Investigator. The driver of the semi-truck and his two passengers were treated at the scene by responding paramedics.
No further details are known at this time. NMSP is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
