Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
The speed involved in a crash matters because it can mean the difference between a life-threatening crash and a minor fender bender. In New Mexico, speeding is the main cause of fatal auto accidents. In 2019, speeding accounted for 26 percent of all traffic fatalities on American roadways. A total of 9,478 died in these accidents—more than 25 every day—and speeding was the primary cause of these deaths. A total of 8,544 fatal speeding-related collisions were reported across the country that year.
The risk of being seriously injured is always present when you are on the road. New Mexico drivers have a poor reputation for engaging in reckless driving, and this means that you can be seriously injured in a crash at any second. It is important that you are prepared if you are ever involved in a severe collision. No one ever plans to be injured in a car crash, but many New Mexicans are unfairly hurt on the roads. A trained personal injury attorney can step in to make sure that you are able to make a full recovery in the event a reckless driver leaves you with life-threatening injuries.
When drivers speed, they are more likely to cause a life-threatening crash. Vehicles are not really meant to withstand high-speed collisions, and this means that the on-board safety features will not function as intended. This leaves occupants more exposed to the risk of a life-changing car accident. You need to be sure that you are able to make informed decisions to protect your future and legal rights.
