Albuquerque, NM - Car Crash with Injuries on I-40 near Coors Rd

Albuquerque, NM (February 25, 2023) - Several first responders were sent to the scene of a serious car crash in Albuquerque on Saturday morning, February 24. At approximately 10:40 a.m., the accident happened on Interstate 40. 

Responders including police, EMTs, and fire crews were seen working at the crash site a short time after it occurred. An unknown number of vehicles collided near Coors Road on Interstate 40, resulting in injuries. 

One or more wounded patients were treated at the crash scene before paramedics transported them to local medical centers to receive further care. Their names have not been reported at this time. 

The interstate was blocked near Exit 155 while emergency responders worked to help the people involved in the accident. Traffic was backed up back to Unser Boulevard while the scene was active with police and paramedics. 

Authorities asked local drivers commuting near the scene to use different routes of travel while the scene was being controlled.
