Speeding is one of the most commonly cited causes of car accidents in New Mexico and around the nation. According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, drivers who go over the speed limit are responsible for nearly one-third of all accidents on American roads. In 2019, speeding resulted in more than 9,500 fatalities and hundreds of serious injuries. The goal of the speed limits in New Mexico is to protect all drivers, and you may have grounds for compensation if you were hurt by a speeding driver.
Most car accidents are preventable, and the majority of them are the result of errors made by other drivers. You must demonstrate that the defendant was at fault if you were hurt in an automobile accident. New Mexico has a more traditional fault-based legal system for motor accident claims. This means that, after an automobile accident, it could be challenging to assign blame. You must establish certain legal conditions, such as that the responsible party owed you a duty of care and disregarded that obligation, in order to succeed in a personal injury case.
In addition to the current costs associated with a car accident, our attorneys are able to completely examine the claims of our clients by projecting future medical costs, lost earnings, and other expenses. The discomfort and suffering brought on by our client’s injuries should be covered by your compensation. We will actively negotiate with the insurance company after carefully estimating the claim’s value. If the insurance company does not provide a reasonable estimate of the damages, we will seek compensation in court.
