Not just in New Mexico, but all over the nation, car accidents happen frequently. In the Land of Enchantment, thousands of people lose their lives in traffic accidents every year, and many more have severe injuries. In more than 6 million car accidents each year, more than 3 million people suffer injuries in the United States. Unfortunately, car accidents cause the deaths of more than 35,000 people each year in the United States. It can be highly overwhelming and challenging to sustain catastrophic injuries in a car accident, and you might want legal assistance to claim lost compensation.
Accident victims frequently receive calls from insurance companies asking for an oral or written statement. Adrenaline is known to cause accident victims to downplay or exaggerate their injuries, and someone who has recently experienced shock may accidentally admit culpability in a recorded statement. If you suffer severe injuries in a vehicle accident, your life may be affected for years to come. One of the many tactics insurers use to defraud customers who have strong grounds for a personal injury claim is taking advantage of the crash victim.
In New Mexico, victims who win their personal injury cases are entitled to both monetary and non-monetary compensation for their injuries. Economic losses also include compensation for out-of-pocket costs such as lost wages, a decline in earning potential, and medical expenses. Non-economic damages are used to compensate the harmed person for their suffering and impaired quality of life. Although it may be more difficult to explain, your attorney will make sure that your claim accurately captures the extent of your damages.
