One of the most often cited factors in car accidents in New Mexico and across the country is speeding. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration estimates that roughly one-third of all fatalities on American roadways are caused by drivers who exceed the speed limit. More than 9,500 people lost their lives and hundreds suffered serious injuries in 2019 as a result of speeding. All drivers in New Mexico are protected by the speed restrictions, so if a speeding driver injured you, you might be entitled to compensation.
Those who win their personal injury lawsuits in New Mexico are entitled to both monetary and non-monetary damages for their injuries. Economic losses also include compensation for out-of-pocket costs such as lost wages, a decline in earning potential, and medical expenses. Costs like pain and suffering and the damaged party's lower quality of life are covered by non-economic damages.
New Mexicans can often recover financially in one of two ways following an automobile accident. Usually, the victim will submit a claim to the negligent driver's insurance provider. Even if the victim has evidence that the reckless motorist was speeding, it could be challenging to get a complete and fair settlement. Insurance firms have a history of bullying victims and depriving them of the full compensation to which they are legally entitled.
