Albuquerque, NM - Marlene Platero Killed in Collision on I-25 at Montano Rd

Albuquerque, NM (March 14, 2023) - On Sunday, March 12, a woman was killed after a car accident in the Albuquerque area. 

The deadly crash took place on Interstate 25 near Montano Road at around 8 a.m. It was reported that a water heater was on the interstate, and a car driven by 66-year-old Marlene Platero swerved to avoid hitting the object. This caused Platero to hit a Jeep on the roadway. 

Platero sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead as a result of the crash. No further information has been provided at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is in progress.
