Albuquerque, NM (January 11, 2023) – The rider of a moped was killed after being involved in a crash in Albuquerque on Tuesday evening, January 10.
The fatal crash took place at the intersection of Central Avenue and Garcia Street. A moped and a Ford pickup truck were traveling eastbound when the truck hit the moped. The pickup pushed the bike for a significant distance, according to initial reports.
The rider was transported to a nearby hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. Another rider was later found by authorities at around 8 p.m. and hospitalized for treatment. The driver of the Ford fled the scene.
No further information has been published at this time.
Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
