New Mexico Car Wrecks
You never know when you can find yourself in a major car accident when traveling through the state of New Mexico. According to the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), there is an automobile accident in the state once every 12 minutes, with an injury occurring on the state’s roads about every 26 minutes. Hundreds are killed and thousands injured in New Mexico car crashes each year.
It is hard to be prepared for a car accident. A crash can be a traumatic event that leaves you feeling overwhelmed, confused, and anxious about the future, so you must be able to make informed decisions to protect your future. Working with a skilled attorney who can help you navigate the difficult claims process is essential if you are hurt by a negligent driver. You should not depend fully on a deceptive insurance provider during this difficult time. You need to work with a lawyer to protect your recovery.
If you are injured in a car accident, a lawyer will be able to help you in many ways. They can help in the accident investigation to determine who is responsible for your injuries and any further losses. Your attorney can also help you place a monetary value on your claim, helping you to better understand how much compensation you are truly owed for your injuries and other damages. When you accept a settlement from the insurer, you will be giving up any additional recourse to pursue additional compensation, and if it turns out that you have more damages than you initially believed, you can find yourself in an untenable financial situation.
