All across the country, car accidents happen frequently, but they happen here in New Mexico more frequently than anywhere else. In the Land of Enchantment, thousands of people suffer life-altering injuries, and tens of thousands are killed in traffic accidents every year. Among the more than 6 million car accidents that take place each year in the United States, more than 3 million people suffer injuries. Unfortunately, more than 35,000 people every year in the United States lose their lives each year in traffic accidents. Without a qualified attorney, it may be very overwhelming and challenging to pursue lost compensation if you sustain severe injuries in a car accident.
Accident victims are frequently contacted by insurance companies to provide an oral or written statement. Adrenaline is known to cause accident victims to exaggerate or downplay their injuries, and someone who has recently experienced shock may accidentally admit culpability in a recorded statement. If you suffer severe injuries in a vehicle accident, your life may be affected for years to come. One of the many methods insurers use to defraud clients who have strong grounds for a personal injury claim is taking advantage of the crash victim.
Both monetary and non-monetary reparations for injuries are available to victims who win their personal injury claims in New Mexico. Economic losses also include compensation for out-of-pocket costs such as lost wages, a decline in earning potential, and medical expenses. Non-economic damages are used to compensate the sufferer for their suffering and reduced standard of living. Even though it may be harder to describe, your attorney will make sure that your claim fairly reflects the extent of your damages.
