Laguna, NM – Thomas, Vicki Bowen Killed in Crash with Semi on I-40

Laguna, NM (October 13, 2021) – Two Arizona residents died after a crash involving an 18-wheeler near Laguna on Friday, October 8.

The incident occurred near a construction zone on Interstate 40. A 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck was slowing due to traffic on the highway. The pickup was rear-ended by a Freightliner commercial vehicle. 

 The impact caused the Dodge to be pushed into a Freighliner ahead of it. The two occupants, Thomas Bowen and Vicki Bowen, were killed in the crash. The driver of the Freightliner was cited for negligent operation. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is underway.
