Las Cruces, NM – Moped Rider Hospitalized in Crash at Motel Blvd & Picacho Ave

Las Cruces, NM (November 2, 2021) – A man was sent to the hospital after being involved in a traffic accident in Las Cruces on Monday, November 1. 

The crash took place at the intersection of Motel Boulevard and Picacho Avenue. A man was riding a moped at the time of the crash. He was hit by a Dona Ana County Sheriff Office vehicle at around 5:30 a.m. that morning. 

The deputy was reportedly on the way to work when the impact occurred. The rider of the moped was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the crash. 

An ongoing accident investigation is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
