One of the most frequently noted factors in car accidents in New Mexico and across the country is speeding. Almost one-third of all highway fatalities in the United States can be attributed to speeding, according to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration. More than 9,500 people lost their lives, and hundreds suffered serious injuries in 2019 as a result of speeding. All drivers in New Mexico are safeguarded by the speed limits. You might be entitled to compensation if a driver who was speeding caused you to sustain serious injuries.
Insurance firms regularly phone accident victims to request an oral or written statement. Accident victims are known to exaggerate or minimize their injuries due to adrenaline, and someone who has recently been shocked might unintentionally admit guilt in a recorded statement. Your life may be impacted for years to come if you sustain catastrophic injuries in a car accident. Taking advantage of the collision victim is just one of the many strategies insurers employ to cheat clients who have solid grounds for a personal injury claim.
Victims who prevail in their personal injury lawsuits in New Mexico are entitled to both monetary and non-monetary damages for their injuries. Compensation for out-of-pocket expenses like missed wages, a reduction in earning potential, and medical bills are also a part of economic losses. Non-economic damages are used to make up for the victim’s pain and diminished quality of life. Your lawyer will make sure that your claim appropriately reflects the scope of your damages, even though it could be more challenging to articulate.
