Sante Fe, NM (April 6, 2023) - Multiple people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision in the Santa Fe area on Wednesday morning, April 5.
The crash was reported on Interstate 25 near La Bajada in Santa Fe County. It was reported that a driver was blinded by the sun, which caused them to enter the northbound lanes of the highway. Other motorists began to slow down and come to a stop, and these cars were rear-ended by other drivers. This caused a pileup crash.
Several people were injured. No additional information has been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Every 11 minutes, an automobile accident is reported in New Mexico, and every 26 minutes, someone is injured in a car crash in the state. While some auto accidents only leave victims with minor scrapes and bruises, others may leave victims with significant injuries that could render them permanently incapacitated. Drivers must be held accountable for their acts, and those who have been hurt should be compensated for their losses.
There are a few things you should do after getting hurt in a car accident to strengthen your claim. Gather as many witnesses as you can, and if at all possible, attempt to get them to provide a written statement. Any documentation that lists the costs and losses you have suffered should be kept as evidence of your damages. Key pieces of proof during the healing process can include the length of time you lost from work as a result of the accident, as well as your medical expenses and the doctor's observations.
It is imperative to begin your claim as soon as you can if you want to make every attempt to ensure the success of your case. Even though the statute of limitations for submitting a personal injury claim in New Mexico is three years from the date of the accident, contact a New Mexico vehicle accident attorney while the incident is still recent in the memories of witnesses, police, and paramedics. The earlier you begin developing your case, the more confident you can be that every important detail will be recalled and readily available as evidence.
If you were hurt in a car accident, contact a lawyer as soon as you can so they can start preparing your case. You need a lawyer on your side if you were in a serious accident and want to ensure that you are fairly compensated for your damages and that you are doing everything in your power to defend your claim. With the aid of a lawyer, you may more accurately analyze your damages and how the accident affected your life. Call the offices of Will Ferguson & Associates at (505) 243-5566 to schedule a consultation with a Santa Fe auto accident lawyer to discuss how to begin the road to recovery following a collision. Protecting your right to compensation and making sure the responsible party is held accountable are our goals.
