New Mexico Distracted Driving Crashes
Distracted driving is a national epidemic that has reached the streets of New Mexico. 10% of all drivers under the age of 20 have been involved in a distracted driving accident. Annually, 421,000 people are injured in crashes caused by a distracted motorist in the United States.
Distractions can take many forms on the road, but the most prevalent issue is the use of a cell phone. Many drivers admit to using a phone while in the driver’s seat. This poses a significant risk to others on the road and the driver as well.
