San Juan County, NM - Car Wreck Causes Injuries on US Hwy 550 near S Bloomfield

San Juan County, NM (November 5, 2022) - A car wreck happened on Thursday, November 3, in San Juan County on Highway 550 near South Bloomfield. How and why the crash took place remains unknown at this time.

According to information from officials, the accident occurred around 6:06 a.m. about a mile south of the Huerfano area. Emergency crews were seen rendering aid at the scene a short time after it happened.

One or more people received medical care at the crash site. It is currently unclear how many people were taken to the hospital. 

Traffic was backed up in the area for at least 8 hours while crews worked to secure the scene. Police in San Juan County continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
