Albuquerque, NM – 4 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident near I-40 & I-25 Interchange
Albuquerque, NM (November 27, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash shut down all eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 in Albuquerque on Wednesday, November 26. The wreck happened near the interchange where Interstate 40 meets Interstate 25. New Mexico State Police responded to the scene after reports of a serious collision.
State police said four vehicles were involved. Three juveniles and one adult suffered injuries and went to a hospital for medical treatment. Officials did not release the names of those hurt or describe how severe their injuries were. Crews worked along the roadway to assist victims, remove damaged vehicles, and gather evidence.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation confirmed the crash forced a full closure of the eastbound side of Interstate 40 for a period of time. After investigators completed initial scene work, crews reopened the lanes, and traffic began moving again.
Officials have not shared what caused the vehicles to collide. State police continue to investigate this traffic accident.
We hope everyone injured heals fully and gets the care they need.
Car Accidents in Albuquerque
Interstates like I-40 and I-25 move huge numbers of drivers through Albuquerque every day. High speeds, tight lane changes, and heavy merging near the interchange can lead to multi-vehicle crashes in seconds. That is why recent car accidents in Albuquerque often happen on these busy routes. When several cars collide, victims may suffer injuries that affect their health, work, and daily life.
If another driver caused a crash, injured people may have the right to pursue compensation. The goal is to cover both the costs of recovery and the losses that follow. Depending on the facts of the case, victims may seek:
- Emergency care costs, including ambulance transport and hospital treatment
- Follow-up medical visits, testing, and specialist care
- Surgery, medication, and medical equipment
- Physical therapy and long-term rehabilitation
- Future medical expenses tied to lasting injuries
- Lost wages while recovering and unable to work
- Reduced earning ability if injuries change what work you can do
- Pain and suffering from physical discomfort and limits on daily life
- Emotional distress, anxiety, or trauma after the crash
- Loss of enjoyment of life when injuries block normal activities
- Vehicle repair costs or full replacement value if the car is totaled
- Out-of-pocket expenses like travel for treatment or in-home support
New Mexico law also sets deadlines for filing injury claims. The New Mexico statute of limitations for personal injury rules can affect your case if you wait too long.
An experienced Albuquerque car accident lawyer can explain these timelines, gather evidence, and deal with insurance companies that try to limit payouts.
