There are a few different scenarios that can cause a speeding-related crash. Maybe you are stalled at a stop sign when a fast-moving vehicle rear-ends you, or an aggressive driver speeding by on the road could cut you off, causing you to roll over. Speed-related crashes claimed the lives of more than 150 people in our state in 2019, and certain counties are more prone to these deadly accidents than others. Bernalillo County was the site of a reported 36 of these fatalities that year. A speeding driver can be potentially held liable for injuries if they are found to be liable for a car accident.
Car accidents can happen in a matter of seconds, but their effects can last a lifetime. Most accident victims will incur high medical expenditures after a crash as they deal with their damages, and they can be so seriously hurt that they are unable to return to work. Accident victims and their families may experience serious financial hardships that can make life much more difficult, and all this can be hard to bear.
After a car accident, you may sustain bodily and psychological injuries. Your age, general health, and any pre-existing medical conditions are just a few of the variables that will affect how severe your injuries are after a crash. Your emotional suffering may take the form of hopelessness, anxiety, irritation, aggressiveness, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Due to the challenging recovery process, many accident victims are still healing from their injuries a year or more after the incident.
