Distracted Driving Crashes in New Mexico
One of the main reasons for car accidents in New Mexico is driver distraction. According to statistics, distracted driving accounts for roughly 22 percent of the state’s collisions. Studies conducted even more recently have demonstrated that driving while distracted may be just as dangerous as driving while intoxicated. If a distracted driver caused an automobile accident that resulted in serious injuries, you may be able to file a claim for compensation by working with an experienced attorney.
You need to be attentive any time you are traveling on the road. There is always a chance of a reckless driver coming out of nowhere and causing a serious collision due to no fault of your own. It is important that you take precise steps following a serious crash. You need to make sure you are able to see a trusted physician who can inform you about your condition. Even if you feel that you were not seriously hurt, it is common for adrenaline to make crash victims believe they are perfectly fine. Seeing a doctor can help you fully understand the extent of your injuries and even establish a connection between the crash and your new injuries.
If you do not seek treatment, the insurance company may see this as a justification to deny or reduce your claim. It will argue that you must not have been seriously impacted by the crash if you did not require a medical evaluation. You need to make sure you do everything possible to strengthen your claim, and that means partnering with a trained attorney.
The moments following a serious crash are always difficult, and you should not be left to handle it on your own. You need to partner with a trained Albuquerque car crash lawyer who can help you navigate the complicated claims process to ensure you are able to achieve a full recovery.
