Albuquerque, NM – Fatal Crash at Jefferson & Montgomery Blvd NE
Albuquerque, NM (September 12, 2025) – The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Thursday evening, September 11, at the intersection of Jefferson and Montgomery Boulevard Northeast. The crash involved two vehicles; a Kia Sportage and a black Scion Tc.
The Albuquerque Police Department reported that the crash happened when a westbound Kia Sportage tried to turn left onto Jefferson Street to head north.
At the same time, the Scion Tc, traveling eastbound on Montgomery Blvd NE, attempted a left turn to head north on Jefferson. The two vehicles collided in a T-bone manner at the intersection.
Responders transported the driver of the Kia Sportage to a local hospital, where they remain in stable condition. However, medical personnel pronounced the driver of the Scion Tc deceased at the scene.
The Albuquerque Police Department’s Fatal Crash Unit is handling the investigation, and authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the crash. They have not released further details at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
