Distracted Driving Crashes in New Mexico
Everybody using the road has a duty to drive carefully and avoid causing injuries to others. Too many people in New Mexico fail to live up to this basic principle. In New Mexico, there are over 45,000 registered auto accidents every year, and most of these collisions are caused by distracted drivers. In 2017, there was one recorded distracted driving collision in the state roughly every 56 minutes. In the time it takes to send a text message, you can travel the length of a football field, which is more than enough time to cause a severe car accident.
There is only so much that can be done to prevent a car accident. Negligent drivers fill New Mexico roadways, and it just takes one person to cause a life-changing collision. You should not be left to manage the consequences alone following a serious car accident. You need to consult with an experienced New Mexico car accident lawyer with years of experience handling personal injury cases. It is important that you make every effort to maximize your recovery during this difficult time.
The insurance company will try to make it seem like it is on your side, but you should not let them be in control of your recovery. At their core, insurance companies are businesses, and they want to limit their liability. The adjuster will try to persuade you to accept their settlement offer, but these offers are often not enough to fully cover you for your injuries and resulting damages. You need a skilled lawyer who is ready to handle these negotiations and protect your best interests.
You need to understand that you are not alone after a catastrophic auto accident. You need an experienced lawyer who is ready to fight for your full and fair compensation.
