Speeding-Related Accidents in New Mexico
You never really know when you will be hurt by a reckless driver. Speeding is particularly common on New Mexico roads, and drivers in the state have a bad habit of exceeding the speed limit. In a single year, over 150 people died in New Mexico due to speeding-related collisions, and the data indicates that certain counties see a higher frequency of high-speed crashes than others. In Bernalillo County, there were 36 fatal speeding-related collisions recorded in that year, the highest number for any county in the state. Speeding makes it much harder to control a car, and the force of impact in a high-speed collision will almost always be much greater.
