Speeding-related Crashes in New Mexico
New Mexico drivers are some of the worst in the country. Distracted driving, speeding, and driving while intoxicated are some of the leading causes of serious crashes in the state. More than 40,000 Americans lose their lives to speeding drivers each year, and during the past 20 years, speeding has been linked to about one-third of all documented traffic fatalities in the country. More than 30 percent of traffic deaths in New Mexico involve speeding motorists.
