Albuquerque, NM – Several Hurt in DUI Crash on I-40
Albuquerque, NM (May 14, 2024) – On Monday, May 13, multiple injuries were reported after a car accident in the Albuquerque area. The incident took place on Interstate 40 near mile marker 155 early that morning, around 2 a.m. Local reports indicated that a Subaru and a Corvette were involved in the collision.
Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid. The two vehicles were found heavily damaged. The two occupants of the Corvette were outside the vehicle when authorities arrived. According to official reports, the driver of the Corvette, 23-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez, accepted responsibility for the accident. The passenger of the Corvette suffered life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.
The two Subaru occupants were also hurt. Attending medical personnel treated the three others involved in the accident at the scene. It was later reported that the Corvette was traveling at 120 miles per hour. Gonzales failed a sobriety test and was taken into custody by authorities.
