Albuquerque, NM – Three People Rescued from House Fire on Galeras NW

Albuquerque, NM (November 17, 2025) – Three people went to the hospital on Saturday, November 15, after a fire trapped them inside a two-story home on Galeras Northwest. Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews responded to the home at 919 Galeras Northwest around 5:18 p.m. and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure.

Firefighters acted quickly. Crews threw a ladder to the balcony on the front side of the home and rescued three people who were unable to escape on their own. Once the victims were safely removed, another team entered the burning home and attacked the flames from the inside. Fire officials said it took only a few minutes to control and extinguish the blaze.

Paramedics transported the three rescued individuals to a local hospital with injuries from smoke exposure and heat. Seven people in total were displaced from the home. Crews secured the property and assisted the residents while investigators began examining the fire scene to determine how the blaze started.
