Albuquerque, NM – Two Killed, Three Hurt in Street Race Crash on Louisiana Blvd
Albuquerque, NM (October 9, 2023) – Two people were killed and three others injured after a collision involving a drag race in Albuquerque on Sunday night, October 8.
The deadly accident took place on Lousiana Boulevard at around 7:20 p.m. It was reported that a gold BMW and a green Mini Cooper were racing on the roadway and traveling at high speeds when they hit a white Toyota at the intersection of Louisiana Boulevard NE and Delwood Avenue NE.
The woman driving the Toyota was killed in the crash, and two 14-year-old passengers sustained injuries. The driver of the Mini Cooper was ejected and taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. A 17-year-old woman in the car was hospitalized in critical condition.
It was later revealed that one of the racers, 28-year-old Andy Doreste-Saumell, was arrested and is currently facing charges related to the crash.
