Albuquerque, NM - Update: Eric Remaly Killed in Truck Accident on I-40

Albuquerque, NM (April 11, 2023) - Officials have identified the California man who was killed following a trucking accident in Albuquerque on Sunday, April 9. 

The deadly crash was reported on Interstate 40 EB at around 12:10 p.m. It was reported that a 2021 Freightliner CMV was traveling east when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Both the driver and passenger were ejected in the crash. 

The passenger was killed in the accident. The deceased party was later identified as 39-year-old Eric Remaly of San Bernardino, California. The 42-year-old man driving the rig was hospitalized for treatment. 

No additional information has been provided at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is in progress.
