Each year, over 6 million car crashes are reported in the United States. These crashes happen for a multitude of different reasons, ranging from vehicle malfunctions and bad weather to driver negligence. Unfortunately, negligent driving has become the main reason car crashes happen in the United States and throughout the state of New Mexico. Every day, over 7,500 people suffer injuries in auto collisions in the United States. Alarmingly, the majority of these wrecks are the result of driver negligence.
Driver negligence can be displayed in many different ways, all of which are dangerous and selfish. Distracted, fatigued, intoxicated, and speeding drivers cause millions of car crashes per year that injure and take the lives of countless people. On average, about 100 people lose their lives per day due to car crashes in the United States. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that about 92% of auto collisions throughout the nation are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. This means that millions of vehicle collisions happen per year due to the actions of careless, reckless, and otherwise negligent drivers.
New Mexico is no stranger to car crashes. The land of Enchantment sees over 45,000 vehicle collisions per year that cause more than 20,000 people to sustain injuries. Sadly, hundreds lose their lives in auto collisions across New Mexico yearly. When you or someone you love has been hurt in a negligently caused accident, you should know where to turn for help.
