2026 Ferguson Court Scholarship
Will Ferguson & Associates understands the unique strengths and discipline that student-athletes bring to the legal profession — from structure and resilience to strategic thinking and perseverance. As a law firm dedicated to supporting the next generation of legal professionals, we believe in empowering individuals who have developed these skills through success in sports of all kinds, including endeavors as diverse as successful motor sports and competitive shooting. Through our scholarship program, we aim to encourage student-athletes to channel their sports experiences into a meaningful legal career. That is why we are truly proud and excited to offer the Will Ferguson & Associates 2026 Ferguson Court Scholarship.

Eligibility
- The scholarship is open to current undergraduate students or graduate students who are legal residents of the United States, including all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited two-to-four-year post-secondary institution in 2026.
- Please note: Employees of Will Ferguson & Associates, their immediate family members (including parents, children, siblings, and spouses), as well as individuals residing in the same household (regardless of relationship), are not eligible to apply.
- Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing overall.
Application Requirements
- The candidate must fill out the form below with all necessary information
- The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: participation and excellence in sport competition, including preparation, conditioning and training, builds more than physical strength and acuity— it shapes discipline, strategy, and resilience. Share how your success in sports is helping you prepare for the challenges and purpose of a legal career.
- Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI writing is deemed present in the essay, the application will be denied.
- The candidate must submit a professional resumé that illustrates their successes and experience, both athletic and academic. For this scholarship, successful participation in sanctioned sports, including activities as diverse and nontraditional as motorsports, drone racing, sailing, paintball, break-dancing, in short, the broad range of human sporting competition.
- The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. Preference will be given to students either from or attending school in New Mexico.
The recipient of the Ferguson Court Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.
