Albuquerque, NM (April 9, 2024) - There were confirmed injuries resulting from a vehicle collision in the Albuquerque area on Monday, April 8. That night around 10:32 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the crash site on Interstate 25 NB near Osuna Road NE. At least one person involved in the collision was hurt.
At this time, the severity and number of the related injuries have not been confirmed. The injured parties were provided aid by attending medical personnel. Ambulances were available to transport the crash victims to local hospitals for further support. The roadway was temporarily closed as emergency responders were present. Tow trucks were later dispatched to clear the resulting debris and reopen the area to outside traffic. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Everybody on the road is actively at risk from speeding drivers. There is a greater chance of potentially fatal crashes caused by drivers who engage in this risky activity. Speeding significantly impairs vehicle control and lengthens the time required to stop completely. Each year, more than 10,000 people are killed by speeding drivers in the United States, making up more than 25 percent of all road deaths on average. More than 30 percent of fatal collisions in the state of New Mexico are caused by speeding, and the habit is unfortunately common on the state's roads.
