New Mexico Distracted Driving Accidents
Distracted driving is a serious issue that is becoming worse every year in the United States. A sizable proportion of auto accidents in New Mexico are caused by distracted drivers, according to data from the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT). It is common to see drivers looking down at their phones these days, and you can easily travel the length of a football field in the time it takes to send a single text on the highway. Using a mobile device while driving is one type of driver distraction, but there are other behaviors that are just as dangerous, such as talking to a passenger or messing with the radio.
