Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people across the state of New Mexico face negative consequences from auto collisions each year. There are countless instances where people are injured in collisions due to the careless and reckless actions of other drivers. The unfortunate truth is that many accidents on our roads are caused by speeding drivers, drivers who are intoxicated, and drivers who simply fail to yield to others. These reckless actions often cause severe harm to innocent people. Victims involved in accidents often deal with severe injuries requiring medical care. Common injuries reported in auto accidents include:
- Trauma to the head: Injuries like skull fractures, facial injuries, or traumatic brain injuries necessitate extensive medical care, often involving long-term treatment for victims.
- Internal organ injuries: Requiring immediate medical attention, these injuries, such as lung punctures or spleen ruptures, can be life-threatening if not treated immediately.
- Broken bones: These injuries can be highly debilitating, necessitating the wearing of casts for weeks or even months. In some cases, victims may undergo therapy, rehabilitation, or even surgery.
