Albuquerque, NM – Chase Ends in Deadly Crash at Marquette Ave & Espanola St

Albuquerque, NM (July 18, 2024) – There were fatal injuries after a crash resulting from a high-speed chase in the Albuquerque area on Wednesday, July 17. The incident was reported at the corner of Marquette Avenue and Espanola Street that afternoon, around 4:25 p.m. Local law enforcement officials spotted a reportedly stolen vehicle, and a chase ensued. 

The pursued vehicle crashed into another car, and the driver and a passenger fled the scene on foot. The female driver of the other vehicle was extricated by responding emergency units. She was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital in critical condition, but she was pronounced dead while en route to the medical facility. No updates on the deadly crash are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
