New Mexico High-Speed Collisions
When you become familiar with an area, you will naturally be more comfortable speeding. This reckless action, though, can make the road dangerous for everyone. Speeding drivers are less able to control their vehicles and stop to prevent a serious collision. Tens of thousands of people are killed each year in high-speed crashes in the United States, and over the past twenty years, speeding has been a factor in nearly one-third of reported traffic fatalities. In a recent year, nearly 35 percent of traffic fatalities in New Mexico involved excess speeds.
