Albuquerque, NM – Crash with Injuries near I-40 & San Mateo Ave

Albuquerque, NM (April 15, 2023) – On April 15, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department responded to the scene of an automobile accident that took place during the morning hours.

At approximately 10:50 a.m., vehicles collided on the two left lanes of travel on westbound Interstate 40. The crash caused severe disruptions near San Mateo Avenue.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and shut down a portion of the roadway as they worked for over an hour to remove the damaged vehicles and debris from the road.

At least one person suffered injuries in the crash and had to be transported to an area hospital for further care.
